Sergei Pavlovich TKO’s Curtis Blaydes In 1st Round At UFC Fight Night 222

Sergei Pavlovich ran through Curtis Blaydes tonight at UFC Fight Night 222, hurting him a few times with big punches before flooring him for a 1st round TKO finish.

Round One:

The heavyweight main event is underway in Las Vegas.

Missed leg kick from Blaydes. Right hook from Pavlovich is blocked but even so Blaydes felt that.

Pavlovich throwing heat, but then Blaydes lands a clean punch. Jab for Blaydes. Hooks from Pavlovich off the guard.

Inside leg kick for Blaydes. Leg kick from Blaydes and then a threatening uppercut from Pavlovich. Hard punch through the guard from him stuns Blaydes.

Leg kick for Blaydes. Jab from Pavlovich and Blaydes is wobbling as Pavlovich wades in and fires off thunderous punches. Blaydes somehow surviving though and tries for a takedown that doesn’t pay off.

Jab working for Pavlovich. He steps in with a great uppercut and Blaydes is dazed again.

Pavlovich with follow-up punches and Blaydes slumps to his knees, and that’s it, the ref’s seen enough and Pavlovich wins by TKO at 3.08mins of the first round.

That’s now Pavlovich’s sixth first-round finish via strikes in a row and that’ll certainly bolster his push for a heavyweight title shot.
