Sergey Spivak Submits Derrick Lewis In 1st Round At UFC Fight Night 218

Sergey Spivak made it look easy against Derrick Lewis tonight at UFC Fight Night 218, repeatedly bringing him to the mat in the first round before setting up an arm triangle submission for the tapout finish.

Round One:

Lewis swinging hard in the opening seconds, but Spivak backs out of danger.

Spivak ducks under a punch and clinches up then lands a hip throw to get straight to side control.

Spivak thinking about elbows and lands a punch. Lewis scrambles to his knees, but Spivak keeps him down and starts landing heavy punches.

Spivak with more punches from the back and Lewis gets back to his feet. Spivak brings him down again and is really wearing on him early here.

Lewis up and trying to get away but Spivak drives him back down again almost face-first onto the canvas.

There’s a rinse-repeat cycle here as Lewis keeps getting put down belly-first. Then Spivak flips him over to his back while simultaneously setting up an arm triangle choke and that forces Lewis to submit at 3.05mins of the first round!
