Steven Seagal Claims He Told Anderson Silva Not To Be Nice In The Build-Up To The Fight

Anderson Silva’s more aggressive attitude in the build-up to his rematch with Chael Sonnen tonight at UFC 148 has been something of a masterstroke so far in terms of generating interest in the bout, and according to Steven Seagal it was his idea.

“Are you kidding me, that’s what I’ve been telling him,” Seagal said with a smug chuckle as he talked to MMAfighting’s Ariel Helwani about the champion’s new-found passion. “That’s exactly what I’ve been telling him. I said, ‘you were too nice in the past’. I said, ‘in this fight we’re not going to be nice, we’re going to be really, really, really deep.'”

Who knows what’s going to happen in tonight’s fight, but rest assured that if Silva wins tonight it will have been purely down to Seagal, and if he loses it’s because he didn’t follow the fat douche with the sunglasses advice.
