‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung will return to the Octagon against Renato Moicano in the main event of UFC Fight Night 154 on June 22nd in South Carolina.
For the Zombie, this will be his first fight back after suffering one of the most stunning knockout losses in UFC history when Yair Rodriguez knocked him out with an upward elbow strike in the final second of the fifth round of their incredible war at UFC Fight Night 139 in November of last year.
That had marked only Jung’s second fight in the past five years due to having had to undergo military service in South Korea and deal with injury woes, with his only other bout during that period being a first round knockout victory over Dennis Bermudez in 2017.
Now he heads into another tough fight against Brazil’s Moicano, who is also coming off a loss, having been TKO’d by Jose Aldo back in February.
That was only Moicano’s second loss in his 16 fight career and came after he’d defeated Calvin Kattar and Cub Swanson.
The Korean Zombie Vs Moicano will front a UFC On ESPN+ 12 card that will also feature Andrea ‘KGB’ Lee going up against Montana De La Rosa, while Bryan Barberena fights Randy Brown.
