The main card for ‘UFC On FOX Sports 1’ next month has taken a hit after Thiago Alves had to pull out of his fight with Matt Brown due to an injury.

Brown will stay on the card however and now faces Mike Pyle at the Boston show which takes place on FOX Sports 1’s launch night.

It’s unfortunate to see Alves have to pull out given that he’s had bad luck with injuries and health issues over the past few years. He actually opted to take a year out of MMA and this was was supposed to be his comeback fight, but it wasn’t to be.

Thankfully Pyle is a very good replacement though, currently on a four fight winning streak in the 170lb division, while his opponent Brown has exceeded expectations in recent times by producing five straight victories.
