A light-heavyweight fight between Thiago Santos and Jamahal Hill will headline UFC Fight Night 212 on August 6th at a destination still to be confirmed.
Santos is a former title contender at 205lbs, but his split decision loss to Jon Jones in that fight resulted in a downward spiral for him that in total has seen him win just one of last five fights.
His lone victory during that period came on the scorecards against Johnny Walker in a very uneventful fight, but beyond that the 38-year-old suffered defeats against Glover Teixeira, Aleksander Rakic and most recently Magomed Ankalaev.
Despite that, Santos still holds the No.6 spot on the 205lb ladder as he goes into his next fight against Hill, who is coming off back-to-back KO victories against Jimmy Crute and Johnny Walker.
Prior to that Hill had suffered the first loss of his career after being TKO’d by Paul Craig, but overall his career record stands at 10-1 (+1nc) and he’s currently ranked No.10 in the division.
Santos vs. Hill joins a UFC Fight Night 212 card that does not yet have any other fights attached to it at this stage.
