Rashad Evans Vs Tim Kennedy is rumored to be in the works for the historic UFC 205 event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 12th.
The bout was first reported by FloCombat, but has yet to be officially confirmed by UFC officials.
If it does pan out, this would mark former light-heavyweight champion Evans debut at middleweight, with the 36 year-old previously having hinted that he’d considered dropping down after losing two fights in a row at 205lbs against Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira.
On the other hand, Kennedy hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since a TKO loss to Yoel Romero back in September of 2014.
That defeat snapped a four-fight winning streak, and the 36 year-old hasn’t been in a hurry to get back into the Octagon since, and in is time away has hosted a History Channel show called, ‘Hunting Hitler’.
However, Kennedy has now confirmed that he does now have a fight booked, and claims that, “it’s going to be big.”
Kennedy’s lack of Octagon time of late has seen him slide to No.12 on the UFC’s official middleweight rankings, while Evans is currently positioned at No.7 on the light-heavyweight ladder.
Evans Vs Kennedy is so far the only fight that’s been attached to the UFC’s first ever show in the state of New York since a ban on the sport of MMA was lifted earlier this year.
