Former UFC heavyweight champions Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski have a rivalry stemming back to the three fights they had in the Octagon in 2005-2006, and they are set to go at it again at the end of this month at One FC 5.
There’s no love lost between these two, and they go right back to slinging mud at each other during a new promo for the fight.
“On August 31st when I get into the cage it’s going to be war because this is personal between me and Tim Sylvia,” Arlovski claims.
Sylvia agrees, and he’s relishing the fact thanks to the One FC’s ‘Pride’ style rule-set which allows soccer kicks to the head, he’ll be able to deliver punishment to his foe in ways that he hasn’t been able to in the past.
“I’m really looking forward to these rules,” Sylvia says. “I’m looking forward to dropping Arlovski and seeing that he’s hurt, punting him in the face and knocking his fangs down his throat.”
After having won two out of the three fights between them so far Sylvia seems brimming with confidence that he’ll have his hand raised again in a couple of weeks time, but naturally Arlovski sees it differently.
While most of ‘The Pitbull’s’ comments were too expletive-filled to transcribe, one statement made it through uncensored.
“It’s going to be revenge. August 31st is a revenge day for me, that’s it.”
