Former bantmanweight champion TJ Dillashaw has upted the ante in his quest to get a rematch with the man who defeated him, Dominick Cruz, betting his rival $100,000 that he’d defeat him if they fought again.
“Yo what’s up guys, first things first I need to congratulate @dominickcruz for making the comeback he did,” Dillashaw wrote on Instagram. “But it’s time to put your money where your mouth is, tired of all the drama no more campaigning or talking shit to get this title fight rematch. I’m willing to bet 100k that I beat you in a rematch, you win I fight for free you lose you match my bet. Time to put up or shut up! I believe I’m the better fighter and just want to prove it. Where you at, don’t be scared homie. this is as real as it gets! You Talking about money fights, look no more here it is! I obviously believe in myself do you?”
The first fight between the two stars back in January was razor thin, with Cruz taking back his title via split decision on that occasion, and with Dillashaw remaining the No.1 contender in the weight class after defeating Rafael Assuncao at UFC 200, he certainly has a strong case to be given a second chance.
However, the No.6 ranked Cody Garbrandt has racked up five wins inside the Octagon and belives he should be next in line, while the No.3 ranked John Lineker can make a strong case for a shot at the belt if he overcomes John Dodson in the main event of UFC fight Night 96 this weekend.
