TJ Dillashaw Takes His UFC 173 Title Fight Training To New Heights (Literally)

We’ve heard about the benefits to fighters of training at altitude, but UFC 173 bantamweight title challenger TJ Dillashaw might be taking things a little too far judging by his latest Instagram video!

“Couldn’t sleep so I shook it out a bit with @jbmma155, @fabiopradobjj @holdsworth135 and my brother rooting me on,”
Dillashaw said of the accompanying video which sees him indulging in a little boxing on the pads while in the middle of a flight with a cabin full of passengers. “Was a pretty smooth flight until I brought the thunder! Confused passenger next to me @aweshh”

In a separate video feature from the UFC, Dillashaw admits that he has a habit of overtraining.

“I’ve had to be kicked out of the gym by Urijah Faber,” the Team Alpha Male fighter confesses. “He’s like, ‘You’re in here grinding too much, you’re actually hindering your performance [rather] than getting better because you’re wearing yourself out. Your thinking about the fight too much.”

Dillashaw says taking up golf has helped him to relax more and take his mind off the fight.

With that in mind perhaps the other passengers on his flight should be relieved that he didn’t start practicing his golf swing.
