UFC 166 on october 19th in Texas has just landed two quality main card bouts.
First up is a lightweight tussle between former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez.
Melendez was unsuccessful in his attempt to take the lightweight title from Ben Henderson in his UFC debut, though he pushed him to a close decision, while Sanchez is looking to build on a win over Takanori Gomi.
Also announced for the card is a welterweight match-up between Hector Lombard and Nate Marquardt.
Lombard is moving down from middleweight for this fight, while Marquardt will be aiming to pick up his first win in the Octagon since returning following a stint in Strikeforce.
It’s previously been announced that UFC 166 will be headlined by a heavyweight title trilogy fight between current champion Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.
