Following last night’s UFC 185 event on pay-per-view from Dallas, Texas, the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 fighter bonus awards were announced.
As has been the case a few times following recent UFC events, on this occasion there was not a ‘Fight Of The Night’ award, but rather four ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses were handed out instead due to some real stand-out performance on the night on the main card and televised prelims.
Earning the first was Rafael dos Anjos who showed off a masterful display of pressure-based striking and grappling to dominate Anthony Pettis and seize the UFC’s lightweight title.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s performance to seize the woman’s strawweight title from Carla Esparza was equally impressive, with impressive takedown defense allowing her to deliver a striking clinic that resulted in a second round TKO stoppage.
Ross Pearson picked up a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award after taking out Sam Stout with a perfectly placed left hook that sent his opponent flying backwards onto the mat, with another big blow landed on that mat sealing the KO victory.
Finally, Beneil Dariush also scooped up a $50,000 bonus after besting Daron Cruickshank on the feet with vicious kicks before submitting him in the second round with a rear-naked choke.
