UFC Could Hold Outdoor Stadium Event At The Las Vegas Motor Speedway

UFC President Dana White was inducted into the Southern Nevada Hall Of Fame this past weekend, and he also walked away with a potential new venue for a future UFC stadium show.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway President Chris Powell, who was also inducted at the event, has offered White their 132,000 seater stadium and it appears he was very interested in the idea.

β€œI like it,” White told the Las Vegas Review Journal. β€œIt would be cool as hell, and we have a few fights coming up that could pull it off.”

The journal goes on to claim that an event could be held at the stadium as soon as September with the plan being to erect a temporary bowl in the infield to host the fights.

The UFC’s only other outdoor event to date occurred in Abu Dhabi back at UFC 112 in 2010, which played host to over 11,000 fans.

They have been eager to do something on a grander scale though, with Dallas Cowboy’s stadium regularly being mentioned as a potential venue, while they also attempted to do one in Brazil last year which had to be put on the backburner after running into various issues.
