Conor McGregor appeared to have a cordial relationship with both UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley and boxing star Ryan Garcia, but he flipped the script on both of them in a rant this past weekend, which has now provoked a response from ‘Suga’.
McGregor had congratulated Garcia on his win over Devin Haney last month, but after learning of the boxer’s subsequent positive test for Ostarine, the UFC superstar put him on blast and managed to skewer O’Malley in the process due to the fact he’s been flagged for that substance in the past too.
“I am actually disgusted,” McGregor wrote at the weekend in a since-deleted tweet. “This ostarine it reminds me of Sean O’Malley — was on that as well. I don’t like this, I’ll bust yous both up. Do yous want to spar? I will set flights right now for you both todo a full-on spar each. Hotel, Black Forge Inn, the lot. Let’s spar O’Malley and Garcia, two little ostarine heads. I’ll ride you both like yous are ostriches.”
McGregor’s comments likely caught O’Malley off-guard as the 135lb champ has never hid his admiration and respect for ‘The Notorious’ and has had positive interactions with him in the past.
Needless to say though that all now appears to be in the past.
“F*ck Conor,” O’Malley said. “I seen a lot of people being like, ‘Damn, I bet Suga’s sad. Suga always talks nothing but great about Conor and he’s his f*cking idol.’ He just went on a little tweet rant, f*cking booger sugar’d up talking shit. ‘I thought you was out for a spar.’
“I was more sad than mad.”
“Now I cannot wait to see Michael Chandler absolutely just sleep him,” O’Malley added. “I’m turning up. I’m changing up real quick, f*ck Conor. When your idols turn to rivals.”
“He obviously was on some good amount of fun stuff,” O’Malley concluded. “I think the tweet got deleted pretty quick, but is what it is. I cried for a little bit, I’m over it.”
