UFC Fight Night 105 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 105 event in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the battle of the heavyweight, Derrick Lewis and Travis Browne in the main event of the evening.

Browne hurt Lewis in the opening round with kicks to the body, but in the second round it was ‘The Black Beast’s’ heavy hands that began to rule the roost as he buckled his opponent’s legs several times.

Eventually a right hook floored Browne, with big punches on the mat then rendering him unconscious.

Paul Felder earned one of two ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards for his first round TKO finish against newcomer Alessandro Ricci.

Both fighters showed a willingness to get into a striking battle with repeated technical exchanges in the opening minutes of the fight, but Felder was getting the better of it and then hurt his opponent badly with a lead elbow to the face.

That put Ricci on the backfoot clutching at his nose and he sunk to the canvas soon after under-fire from Felder, who finished up with a series of punches to his downed opponent.

Thiago Santos also earned a performance bonus after landing a stunning spinning heel kick upside Jack Marshman’s head that toppled him to the mat in the second round for a TKO finish.
