Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 115 event in Rotterdam the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the heavyweight main event clash between Alexander Volkov and Stefan Struve.

Both men were happy to trade strikes for much of the fight, and in the first round Struve had his moments and even opened up a cut below his opponent’s left eye with a jumping knee, though Volkov responded with a takedown and ground and pound.

In the next couple of rounds Volkov gradually began to find his range and started to land some heavy shots down the pipe, and though Struve shrugged them off to begin with, in the third round a combination from the Russian included an uppercut that finally sent the ‘Skyscraper’ falling in a heap against the cage, leading to a TKO stoppage soon afterwards.

Mairbeck Taisumov earned one of two ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards after he KO’d Felipe Silva with a counter-right just 84 seconds into their fight in the prelims.

Meanwhile, Zabit Magomedsharipov is a hotly tipped new arrival in the UFC and he showed why with a second round submission victory over Mike Santiago after getting the better of him on the feet too.
