Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 191 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight of The Night’ honors this time around was a preliminary card scrap between Molly McCann and Ji Yeon Kim.
Kim had a huge reach advantage and did her best to utilize that from range, but despite also being dropped by an accidental clash of heads in the opening round, McCann would not be denied and delivered a typically gusty performance as she repeatedly battled her war into range to land her punches over the course of 15 minutes to ensure she emerged with a unanimous decision victory (29-28 x3).
Meanwhile, another fighter out of Liverpool, England, Paddy Pimblett secured a performance bonus in his UFC debut after he got caught by some big punches from Luigi Vendramini early in their main card fight, only to then fire back with heavy blows of his own that eventually sent his opponent slumping to the canvas for an impressive TKO victory.
The other performance award went to rising heavyweight force Tom Aspinall, who pieced together a hard knee to the body followed immediately by a big elbow upstairs to floor Sergey Spivak early in their fight, with follow-up punches sealing his TKO victory and fourth win-in-a-row inside the Octagon.
