Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 195 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On this occasion there were no ‘Fight Of The Night’, with four ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses being handed out instead.
Jim Miller became the fighter with the most bouts in UFC history (38) last night, and marked the occasion in style by racking up a highlight-reel finish against newcomer Erick Gonzalez.
Miller appeared to be hurt by strikes in the opening round, but he was also finding a home for some of his own blows and early in the second round that paid off big-time when he landed a powerful left hand that sent his opponent collapsing to the canvas for the first ever clean KO finish of his career.
Nate Landwehr’s fight with Ludovic Klein got promoted to the main card on short notice and he made the most of the opportunity by gradually applying more and more offensive pressure to his opponent, winning out key exchanges and then when he had his opponent in trouble in the third round he stuffed a takedown attempt, got on top and sunk in an anaconda choke finish.
Bruno Silva was coming off second best against Andrew Sanchez and had to endure several illegal groin strikes into the bargain, before turning things around in the final five minutes by turning up the heat on his tiring opponent with heavy barrages of strikes that resulted in Sanchez being dazed several times before the TKO stoppage.
The other performance bonus went to Danaa Batgerel, who unleashed a relentless assault on Brandon Davis, flooring him with an overhand right and then again soon after with more blows, before sealing the TKO finish at 2.01mins of the first round with another series of strikes.
