Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 201 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On this occasion there was no ‘Fight of The Night’ award dished out and so four ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses were served up instead.
There’s no prizes for guessing that main event winner Jamahal Hill was one such award winner after his stunning first round knockout finish against Johnny Walker.
Hill let fly with an overhand that landed to the temple of Walker, leaving him on wobbled legs for a moment before he suddenly just toppled backwards like a fallen tree onto the canvas, where a further big right hand completed a brutal knockout finish.
Also securing a performance bonus was Kyle Daukaus, who tapped out Jamie Pickett in the co-main event with a d’arce choke just a split-second before the end of the first round.
Meanwhile, David Onama rebounded strongly after a loss in his UFC debut, battling through some early adversity on the feet against Gabriel Benitez and then unleashed a powerful combination of left and right hands that sunk his opponent to the mat for an impressive first round finish.
Finally, Stephanie Egger showed off slick ground work to stop Jessica-Rose Clark after initially bringing her to the mat with a head-and-arm judo throw and then transitioning to an armbar submission to force the submission finish.
