UFC Fight Night 214 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 214 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

The UFC opted for four ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses on this occasion and among them was Neil Magny, who defeated Daniel Rodriguez in the co-main event.

This was a competitive fight that appeared to be swinging in D-Rod’s favor by early in the third round as he appeared to hurt Magny with punches that forced him to pull guard.

However, Magny soon got back to his feet and then turned the screw as he looked to clinch up and look for takedown opportunities, leading to him then seizing on a d’arce choke to earn not only a submission stoppage, but also a performance bonus and claim the record for having the most wins in welterweight history (20).

Also earning a performance bonus was Mario Bautista, who late in the first round was able to catch Benito Lopez in a reverse triangle, and with only seconds remaining he then simultaneously went for an armbar to force his opponent to tap out.

Polyana Viana made short work of Jinh Yu Frey in the prelims, landing a punch that stunned her opponent, before proceeding to land multiple clean blows behind that, to send her crashing to the mat, where hammerfists secured a 47 second KO victory.

Finally, Tamires Vidal also claimed a bonus award after landing a highlight-reel flying knee to TKO Ramona Pascual at the 3.06min mark of the opening round.
