UFC Fight Night 45 TV Ratings

The TV ratings are in for Wednesday night’s UFC Fight Night 45 event in Atlantic City and show that an average of 640,000 viewers tuned in for the show on FOX Sports 1.

In addition 415,000 viewers also watched the events preliminary card which also aired on the same channel.

The figures are roughly in line with the UFC’s past Wednesday night live event offerings so far this year, with UFC Fight Night 35: Rockhold Vs Philippou doing 629,000 viewers back in January, while the TUF Nations Finale: Bisping Vs Kennedy event did 641,000 viewers in April.

As with those two events, UFC Fight Night 45 offered up a good main event in Donald Cerrone Vs Jim Miller, but it would appear that in general the UFC’s ratings on Wednesday night’s are less of a draw than their traditional Saturday shows as the overall average for their Fight Night style events on FOX Sports 1 so far weighs in at a higher average of 842,000 viewers.

It’s a little unfortunate that this event didn’t attract more eyeballs as it turned out to be one of the most entertaining events of the year with a string of enjoyable encounters punctuated with exciting finishes.

In fact, all six main card bouts finished by way of stoppage, while only two of the 11 bouts overall ended in a decision.

The UFC will be hoping to keep that momentum going this weekend with UFC Fight Night 46 from Dublin, Ireland, but despite all the pre-fight hype for Conor McGregor’s latest appearance in the Octagon, this event won’t be on FOX Sports, but rather the UFC’s own ‘Fight Pass’ internet subscription service.

However, those in Ireland will be able to watch the event live on terrestrial TV via the 3e channel.
