UFC Fight Night 64 Bonus Awards

Following UFC Fight Night 64 in Poland the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 fighter bonus awards were announced.

Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the heavyweight main event rematch between Mirko Cro Cop and Gabriel Gonzaga.  The Brazilian appeared to be winning with his skills on the mat in the early rounds but Cro Cop rallied in the third, rocking his opponent on the feet before finishing him with vicious ground and pound.

Debuting Scottish fighter Stevie Ray picked up a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award for a TKO victory early in the second round against Marcin Bandel, raining down blows after his opponent pulled guard hoping to lock up a submission.

Also claiming a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus was Maryna Moroz who produced a big upset victory over Joanne Calderwood, backing her up in an early striking exchange before pulling her to the mat with an armbar attempt that would result in the tap-out just 90 seconds into the fight.

Over the years I've watched the UFC develop into the powerhouse it is today, organizations like PRIDE, Strikeforce and WEC rise and fall, and Bellator emerge as a new force on the MMA landscape. Throughout it all I've remained captivated by the sport and I'm excited to cover what comes next here on MMA Insight.
