Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 80 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the back and forth scrap between Michael Chiesa and Jim Miller, with both men having their moments during a competitive fight on the feet and mat before Chiesa was able to shake off a second round kneebar attempt from Miller and then punish him with ground and pound leading to a rear-naked choke finish.
Rose Namajunas earned herself a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus in the main event of the evening after completely outclassing Paige VanZant in every element of the mixed martial arts game for the best part of five rounds before sealing the stand-out display with a rear-naked choke submission.
Finally, Tim Means also scoopoed up a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award for his second round knockout finish against John Howard in the preliminary portion of the card, landing the very definition of a short left hook that switched off his opponents lights and sent him crashing to the canvas.
