In the main event of the evening, John Lineker decisively won a battle of heavy-handed strikers with Michael McDonald by KO in just 2.43mins.
‘Hands Of Stone’ was able to drop McDonald several times in a short space of time, first taking his legs out from under him with a thunderous overhand right, then staggering him again with a left hook shortly afterwards as ‘Mayday’ tried to return fire.
The final nail in the coffin was another left hand that dropped McDonald to his knees, and this time he couldn’t get back up and was drilled with a few more right hands that put him face first on the mat to end the fight.
In the co-main event, Tony Ferguson found himself in a war with late replacement newcomer Landon Vannata in the opening round.
After being clocked with a spinning backfist and punches early, Ferguson was then floored by a head kick later in the round that had him falling across the Octagon as he got back to his feet.
Thing looked bad for Ferguson at that point as Vannata pressed for a finish, but he was able to keep him occupied with submission attempts on the mat to survive to the second round.
Ferguson had landed some meaningful offense of his own in that first five minute spell, but he really found his mark in the second, tagging Vannata with some hard jabs, hammered him with a huge superman punch, and not long after seized an opportunity to drag him to the mat with a d’arce choke and force the tapout.
