UFC On ESPN 12 drew an average of 1.07 million viewers this past Saturday night.
The event was the No.1 rated show on cable for the night and posted a strong .43 rating amongst 18-49 year-old’s, more than double any other show in that demographic.
The icing on the cake is the fact that the prelims were the No.2 rated show for the night on cable, with an average of 635,000 viewers and a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo.
That makes this past weekend’s event the 5th most watched UFC On ESPN event so far, though it still falls some way short of the average of 1,463,000 viewers who tuned into UFC On ESPN 1 back in February of 2019.
It’s worth noting that Top Rank Boxing followed the UFC event, and despite that strong lead-in it only drew 418,000 and had a .17 rating in the 18-49 demo.
It’s good to see that UFC On ESPN 12 performed well as the main event between Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker certainly deserved to reach a lot of eyeballs.
While neither fighter are neccessarily needle-movers for the UFC, this always looked like being a highly entertaining match-up, and indeed it more than lived up to expectations, immediately being declared a ‘Fight Of The Year’ candidate after five thrilling rounds of non-stop action.
