Following last night’s UFC On FOX 15 event in New Jersey the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the preliminary encounter between Gian Villante and Corey Anderson, a battle fought on the feet that almost went the distance before Villante sent him staggering across the cage in the final minute with a blow to the temple and then claimed a TKO stoppage with a few more punches.
Meanwhile, Luke Rockhold scoooped up a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award in style with a dominating performance against Lyoto Machida. He launched a vicious ground and pound assault on him late in the first round which left ‘The Dragon’ wobbling back to his corner in-between rounds, then capitalized on his still unsteady looking opponent in the second round with a rear-naked choke submission.
The other ‘Performance Of The Night’ was righfully handed to Max Holloway who put in a stellar performance against Cub Swanson, classily outstriking him from start to the final minute of the fight before pulling him to the mat with a guillotine choke to finish with a tap-out.
