Alistair Overeem may no longer be fighting Junior Dos Santos for the UFC’s heavyweight title, but the promotion are still pressing forward with their plans for a ‘UFC Primetime’ special with JDS’s now opponent Frank Mir and the first episode airs tonight on FX.
The premiere will air at 11pm ET tonight, right after the latest episode of The Ultimate Fighter: Live on FX. Two more episodes are planned in the coming weeks as the build-up to the title fight intensifies.
As always the Primetime format will give fans a chance to see behind the scenes as both Dos Santos and Mir get prepared physically and mentally for their fight while dealing with their family lifes and the constant scrutiny of the media.
The two will then step into the Octagon on Saturday 26th May as the headline attraction of UFC 146 in Las Vegas, fronting an all-heavyweight main card.
