UFC Showing Interest In Potential Derrick Lewis Vs Francis Ngannou Fight

The UFC’s official twitter account has put out the feelers to see what fans think about a potential heavyweight clash between Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou.

The message on Twitter asked fans to comment if they want to see this fight next and it’s not hard to see why the UFC would be looking to be match up two of the heaviest sluggers in the division.

Lewis got back to winning ways this past Sunday night with a third round TKO victory over Marcin Tybura, leaving him with six victories in his past seven fights, with all having come by way of strikes.

meanwhile, Ngannou if coming of an unsuccessful title challenge against Stipe Miocic, suffering a convincing unanimous decision defeat, but prior to that he had gone on a six-fight unbeaten stretch in the Octagon that had culminated with stoppage victories over Andrei Arlovski and Alistair Overeem.

It remains to be seen whether the UFC will actually go ahead and pull the trigger on the match-up, but Lewis has already admitted that Ngannou is someone he is interested in fighting, though he’s not at the top of his hitlist.

“It really doesn’t matter (who I fight next),” Lewis told MMA Junkie Radio. “Of course Francis. (Curtis) Blaydes. And I really want to get the Werdum fight (more than any of them) because that was the fight I was supposed to fight anyway. It left a bad taste in my mouth.”
