Vicente Luque Defeats Derrick Krantz By TKO in First Round At UFC Fight Night 152

Vicente Luque defeated game newcomer Derrick Krantz by TKO in the first round at UFC Fight Night 152 this evening.

Round One:

Right hand for Krantz and then slings more heavy leather that backs Luque up in trouble early. However, Luque then hops up onto him and works a guillotine choke.

Krantz stays calm though and manages to shake him off and get on top on the mat. Luque gets to a knee and tries to stand as Krantz lands punches and then pulls his opponent away from the cage to keep him grounded.

Krantz has Luque’s back here and tries for a rear-naked choke. He rolls with it and it doesn’t work out, but then he comes off his back and adjusts for an arm-in guillotine choke instead.

That doesn’t work either though and Luque manages to get back to his feet. Back to striking range now. Nice left hook for Luque.

Luque lands a leg kick. Right hand for Luque and then back to the leg kick. Jab for Krantz. Both men just missing with big punches.

Solid leg kick for Luque. Right hand for Krantz. He lumbers forward with a few more punches. Right hand for Luque and Krantz’s legs buckle. He stays upright though, but Luque lands a knee to the body, then a left that hurts Krantz again and puts him to the his knees.

Luque lands with short right hooks to the head and that’s enough for the referee to decide Krantz’s had enough, handing Luque the TKO victory at 3.52mins of the first round.
