UFC president Dana White was in attendance at the Mayweather Vs Pacquiao boxing extravaganza last night in Las Vegas as both a fan and a Yahoo! Sports analyst.
“Not what I expected to see,” was White’s post-fight assessment in an interview with ESNews. “I expected the fight that Floyd fought – that’s how Floyd fights. I thought Manny would come after him more, I though Manny was going to let the hands fly more than he did.”
White also spoke about the business side of the fight, stating his belief that it will set a new record on the pay-per-view front, though not by as much as some are predicting.
“This thing is going to be massive, it’s going to break the record. I don’t think it’s going to do 3 or 4 million, I think it’s going to do 2.6, 7 or 8. Let me tell you what – you do those kind of pay-per-view numbers you’re doing backflips, brother!”
White went on to suggest that the decision to charge $100 for the PPV may have stopped the overall audience from being higher.
As for a possible rematch – White says he’s not interested, and if UFC woman’s bantamweight champ was to step into the Octagon he reckons she’d “tool him”, though he concedes she’d get beaten in the boxing ring.
