Sean O’Malley has taken time out to explain to fans how he delivered his memorable KO against Eddie Wineland last weekend at UFC 250, while also roasting his fellow bantamweight rival Cody Garbrandt’s equally spectacular stoppage of Raphael Assuncao in the co-main event.
In the video O’Malley is seen doing an exaggerated, comical version of Garbrandt’s KO finish, then sarcastically adds, “so that was pretty cool. U dunno, there’s levels to striking. When you’ve got power in your hand, you can just bend down and just throw something, and if it lands, you’ll probably knock someone out.
“I choose pure technique and speed, but they’re both cool,” he concluded.
Some have suggested that a fight between O’Malley and Garbrandt could bring fireworks, but there’s currently a considerable distance between the two in the latest bantamweight rankings, with ‘Sugar’ Sean having just made his way onto the ladder at No.15, while former champion ‘No Love’ has moved up four spots to No.5.
