White Slammed Door Shut On Conor McGregor’s UFC Ownership Stake Demand

Dana White talks to Conor McGregor

Dana White has revealed that Conor McGregor texted him recently to demand an ownership stake in the UFC, and didn’t get the answer he was looking for.

“Conor has never come out, sat down with me, and said, ‘I want a piece of the company, here’s why,’” White told TMZ Sports. “We’ve never had that conversation. We did it in text two weeks ago.

“He said, ‘I feel like I should own a piece of the company.’ And I said, ‘Conor, you know that’s never going to happen.’”

White was then asked if there was any room for negotiation if McGregor was to offer to take less of a percentage of the pay-per-view revenue for his next fight, but the UFC president also swatted that suggestion aside.

“If you want to own a piece of the company, you’d have to put up the money to buy a piece of the company,” White said. “That’s how it works.”
