UFC Fight Night 69 takes place in Berlin, Germany tomorrow on the UFC Fight Pass service and we’ve got our predictions for all the bouts below.
—
Main Card:
Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Jessica Penne
Jedrzejczyk makes her first title defense against former one-time Invicta FC atomweight champion Penne, a jiu-jitsu specialist.
Penne is fantastic to watch on the mat, but the big doubt is whether she’ll ever manage to get the fight there against JJ who’s proven to have top drawer takedown defense against opponents with better wrestling than the challenger.
Jedrzejczyk is unquestionably the better striker here with very crisp, accurate boxing and so if she keeps this standing it should only be a matter of time before she produces a technical knockout victory.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk to win by TKO in Rd2.
—
Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Dennis Siver
This should shape up to be another striker vs grappler match-up, with Siver being the more capable on the feet, while Kawajiri has the wrestling advantage.
I like Siver here. He should be able to keep this one standing more often than not where his mix of compact punches and swift, non-telegraphed kicks should pave the way to a decision victory.
Dennis Siver to win by decision.
—
Steven Kennedy vs. Peter Sobotta
Sobotta didn’t make much of an impression during his first run in the UFC, but he looked better in his return to the Octagon last year and against short-notice newcomer Kennedy in front of his home fans he should notch up another victory here via submission.
Peter Sobotta to win by submission in Rd2.
—
Nick Hein vs. Lukasz Sajewski
Sajewski is making his debut and is a solid Polish prospect who’s unbeaten in his career to date, but I see that ending against Hein who should be able to offer up the more effective offense on the feet to eek out a decision on the scorecards.
Nick Hein to win by decision.
