Al Iaquinta Vs Diego Sanchez Set For UFC Fight Night 108

UFC Fight Night 108 will feature a main card bout between the returning Al Iaquinta and veteran campaigner Diego Sanchez in Nashville on April 22nd.

Despite only being 29 years-old ‘Ragin’ Al’ had been on the verge of retiring from the sport last year due to a contract dispute with the UFC that led to him pursuing a career in real estate instead.

At the time, Iaquinta was on a four-fight winning streak in the UFC’s lightweight division, having defeated the likes of Ross Pearson, Joe Lauzon and Jorge Masvidal, and was steadily climbing up the divisional rankings.

Apparently his issues with the UFC have now been resolved as he returns to fight Sanchez, who earned a solid unanimous decision win over former Bellatot tournament winner Marcin Held in November.

That fell into Sanchez’s recent pattern of ‘win-one, lose-one’ in the UFC over the past five fights, so he’ll no doubt be hoping to break that cycle and get his first back-to-back victories in six years when he goes up against Iaquinta.

Iaquinta Vs Sanchez joins a UFC Fight Night 108 card that will be headlined by a featherweight clash between Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov, while Thales Leites Vs Sam Alvey is also scheduled for the event.
