Alan Jouban Vs Ben Saunders Set For UFC On FOX 28

A welterweight fight between Alan Jouban and Ben Saunders has been booked for UFC On FOX 28 in Orlando, Florida on February 24th.

Jouban comes into this fight off the back of two stoppage defeats in the Octagon during 2017 against Gunnar Nelson and Niko Price.

That halted the 36-year-old’s progress in the 170lb division after previously having registered a trio of wins back in 2016 that culminated in a decision victory over ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry – the first loss of his opponent’s career.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Saunders is also coming off a loss though, having been TKO’d by Peter Sobotta in Sweden back in May.

‘Killa-B’ had secured victories over Jacob Volkmann and Court McGee leading into that fight and is 5-2 overall in his second stint in the Octagon, so the veteran campaigner will be hoping to get straight back to winning ways in 2018.

At this stage UFC On FOX 28 doesn’t have a confirmed headliner, so Jouban Vs Saunders joins a shortlist of other fights that have so far been confirmed for the show in Florida, including Jessica Andrade Vs Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Gilbert Burns Vs Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Jake Collier Vs Marcin Prachnio.

It’s worth noting that the UFC’s shows on FOX have traditionally taken place on a quarterly basis, but this event will actually be the second in the first two months of 2018, presumably due to the fact that the promotion’s current TV deal with the channel comes to an end in the summer.
