Alexander Volkov TKO’s Walt Harris With Body Kick At UFC 254

Alexander Volkov got back to winning ways in style tonight at UFC 254 with a big front kick to the body against Walt Harris leading to a second round TKO stoppage.

Round One:

Early head kick attempt from Harris is blocked. He looks to punch to the body. Volkov with a few punches upstairs. Hard leg kicks from Harris.

Nice one-two counter from Volkov now. Inside leg kick from Harris. Another leg kick from Harris, but he gets countered by a jab. Now a solid left too that forces Harris to back up and reset.

Outside leg kick from Volkov. Harris tries for a body kick in return. Harris with a right hand. He fires off again, but Volkov returns fire with a short flurry of punches of his own.

Front kick to the body from Volkov and a body kick from Harris too. Punch lands for Harris as Volkov also lets his go. Another exchange of strikes at close range.

Volkov conects again and Harris wipes at his nose as he backs up a little. Again Harris backing up a bit and Volkov lands a right hand.

Harris tries to sneak through a straight left, but just coming up short. Hard right hand and a left behind it from Volkov starts to buckle Harris. Volkov looking to unload more punches to the head and body, but then Harris seems to dig deep and fires back to serve notice to his opponent that he’s still in this. Nice knee upstairs from Volkov towards the end of the round.

Round Two:

Harris was wincing as he returned to his corner and said he couldn’t see out of his right eye. He’s ok to continue though.

Harris fakes a single leg and then throws punches upstairs. Volkov corralling Harris towards the cage here. Harris fakes another takedown again to get him thinking.

Nice straight right from Volkov. Harris thought about that takedown again and Volkov was looking to counter with a knee.

Big front kick to the body from Volkov and Harris audibly groaned in pain and backs up. Volko follows him and rains down a few punches as Harris sinks to the mat to seal the TKO stoppage at 1.15mins of the second round.
