Amanda Ribas Suffering From Rare Second Bout Of Covid-19

During the past year there have been times when the occasional report has emerged of someone catching Covid-19 twice, and it appears that UFC fighter Amanda Ribas is one of the them.

Ribas was pulled from her fight against Angela Hill last weekend due to testing positive for the disease along with her dad, and it turns out that this is the second time that she’s had it.

“I’m here in quarantine in the room in Las Vegas,” Ribas told MMA Junkie. “I’m still here. I was feeling the symptoms since Wednesday but thought it was the air conditioning. I was coughing and felt weird and was just coughing. I (struggled) walking. I’m just waiting here in the quarantine, drinking water to get better.

“(This is) the second (time) I’ve had COVID. It is rare, but happened. I hope you guys send vibes for me and my dad to get better.”

As things stand Ribas fight with Hill has been postponed until June 5th, but given what she’s been through and the fact it’s her second bout with Covid, perhaps pushing the bout further back in the calendar would be a better idea to ensure that she’s back to 100% and has an uninterrupted fight camp.
