Amanda Ribas vs. Michelle Waterson Booked For UFC 257

Rising star Amanda Ribas will take on Michelle Waterson in her next fight, which has just been announced for UFC 257 on January 23rd.

The 27-year-old Ribas has currently gone a perfect 4-0 since joining the UFC in the summer of 2019, starting with a submission win over Emily Whitmore.

Ribas has quickly gone on to be paired up with some well established fighters and risen to the occasion, defeating Mackenzie Dern, Randa Markos and most recently Paige VanZant in the space of a year.

For her next fight Ribas had originally been scheduled to fight Carla Esparza at UFC 256, but her opponent withdrew from the bout early last month and the Brazilian has been waiting for a new opponent since.

Now ranked No.9, Ribas takes on another notable veteran in the shape of the 6th placed Waterson, who recently rebounded from back-to-back losses against Claudia Gadelha and Carla Esparza by claiming a split decision win over Angela Hill in September.

Ribas vs. Waterson joins a UFC 257 event that is still in the early stages of being put together and as such no headliner has yet been set, with everything from Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier II to Jan Blachowicz vs. Israel Adesanya being rumored as potential main events.
