Andrei Arlovski Vs Marcin Tybura Scheduled For UFC Fight Night 111

A heavyweight fight between former champion Andrei Arlovski and Marcin Tybura has been announced for UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore on June 17th.

The 38-year-old Arlovski is in dire need of a reversal of fortunes in the Octagon heading into this fight as he’s coming off four losses in a row.

His slump began with a 54 second TKO loss to future champion Stipe Miocic back in January of 2016, which was followed by a further TKO loss to Alistair Overeem a few months later. Josh Barnett then submitted him, while Francis Ngannou piled on the misery by recording a first round technical knockout back in January.

It’s all a far cry from when Arlovski first burst back onto the UFC in 2015 after a six-year absence, racking up wins over Brendan Schaub, Antonio Silva, Travis Browne and Frank Mir.

With that in mind, the No.8 ranked Arlovski will no doubt be somewhat relieved to be facing a less established fighter this time around.

That being said, the 31-year-old Tybura is no pushover, having recorded back-to-back victories over Viktor Pesta and Luis Henrique in the Octagon, which takes his overall record to 15-2.

Arlovski vs Tybura joins a UFC Fight Night 111 card that doesn’t have a main event yet, but is also expected to feature Japanese legend Takanori Gomi fighting Jon Tuck and Justin Scoggins going up against Ulka Sasaki.
