Anthony Smith vs. Dominick Reyes In The Works For UFC 310

A light-heavyweight fight between Anthony Smith and Dominick Reyes is reportedly in the works for UFC 310 in Las Vegas on December 14th.

The 36-year-old Smith will be hoping to end the year on a win after going 1-1 in his 2024 campaign so far.

That includes a 1st round submission win over Vitor Petrino early in May, which was quickly followed by a unanimous decision loss to Roman Dolidze at the end of the following month.

The former 205lb title contender has now won just two of his last six fights and as such has slid to No.12 in the light-heavyweight rankings.

Now he’ll face another former title contender whose hit upon harder times in recent years in the 34-year-old Reyes, though he is coming off a 1st round KO victory against Dustin Jacoby in June.

However, that victory ended a four-fight losing streak for Reyes, starting with what was actually an impressively competitive fight against Jon Jones for the 205lb title back in February of 2020 that he ultimately lost by unanimous decision.

Reyes hopes of an immediate rematch fell through and instead he went on to be TKO’d by Jan Blachowicz and then suffer back-to-back knockout losses against Jiri Prochazka and Ryan Spann.

His recent win leaves hope that perhaps Reyes can still get his career back on track and improve upon his current spot at No.14 in the rankings.

Smith vs. Reyes is currently the only fight linked to the UFC 310 event, which is expected to serve as the promotion’s final pay-per-view event of 2024.
