A lightweight fight between Arman Tsarukyan and Renato Moicano will take the main event spot on the upcoming UFC Fight NIght 223 card on April 29th.
Early last year Tsarukyan had been riding a five-fight winning streak with wins over Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Davi Ramos, Matt Frevola, Christos Gagos and Joel Alvarez, but that came to an end with a decision loss to Mateusz Gamrot.
However, The 26-year-old ended the year with a decision win against Damir Ismagulov, and as such he heads into this fight ranked No.8 in the division.
The 33-year-old Moicano’s form has been patchy at times in the UFC, but he’s become more consistent lately, winning three of his last four fights.
That includes back-to-back submission wins over Jai Herbert and Alexander Hernandez, before losing out to Rafael dos Anjos on the scorecards last year. He then rebounded by securing another submission victory in the first round against Brad Riddell, leaving him ranked at No.13.
Tsarukyan vs. Moicano headlines a UFC Fight Night 223 card that is currently rather light on star power, featuring the likes of Michal Oleksiejczuk vs. Caio Borralho and Marcos Rogério de Lima vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta.
