Aspen Ladd vs. Sara McMann Announced For UFC Fight Night 213

A women’s bantamweight fight between Aspen Ladd and Sara McMann has been announced for UFC Fight Night 213 on August 13th at a destination still to be confirmed.

The last few years have proven to be a struggle for the 27-year-old Ladd, who has had issues with making weight at the same time as having lost three of her last four fights.

That slump in form had come after making a perfect 8-0 start to her MMA career, but a 16 second TKO loss to Germaine de Randamie derailed her momentum and though she picked up a TKO win against Yana Kunitskaya next time out, she’s gone on to suffer unanimous decision losses to Norma Dumont and Raquel Pennington since.

Nevertheless, Ladd still holds the No.7 spot on the 135lb rankings, one place above her next opponent, the 41-year-old McMann, who is coming off a unanimous decision win against Karol Rosa in March.

McMann’s form has also been unsettled in recent times though as she had lost three out of four fights prior to that against the likes of Julianna Pena, Marion Reneau and Ketlen Vieira.

Ladd vs. McMann joins a UFC Fight Night 213 that’s still in it’s fledgling stages, but does also include a fight between Gerald Meerschaert and Bruno Silva.
