Belal Muhammad Out Of Shavkat Rakhmonov Title Fight At UFC 310 Due to Injury

UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad won’t be headlining UFC 310 in December against Shavkat Rakhmonov after he was forced to withdraw due to an injury.

“Caught a bone infection in my foot .. had to put a picc line in my arm for iv antibiotics the next 6 weeks with no physical activity,” Muhammad wrote on X. “Allahs plan is the best plan I’m sorry to everyone that were coming to see me Ill be back soon inshAllah.”

with Muhammad out it’s unclear what the UFC will do with the main event spot at UFC 310, but Rakhmonov has already called for the opportunity to fight someone else for the interim title instead while waiting for the champion to recover.

“Wishing Belal a quick recovery,” Rakhmonov wrote on X. “We’ll meet when you’re back at 100%. For now, I’m ready to take on any contender for the interim title at #UFC310.”

The undefeated Rahmonov is understandably eager to get his hands on a title, having already racked up six wins inside the distance since joining the UFC, taking his career record to a 18-0 in the process.

For now though, UFC 310 proceeds with a card that still has a flyweight title bout in the co-main event slot as Alexandre Pantoja fights Rizin champ Kai Asakura, while Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov, Vicente Luque vs. Nick Diaz and Movsar Evloev vs. Aljamain Sterling also feature on the final PPV line-up of the year.
