Bellator 254 Results

Bellator 254 took place last night and we’ve got all the results for you below.

In the main event, one of Bellator’s biggest homegrown stars Ilima-Lei Macfarlane was dethroned as flyweight champion by Juliana Velasquez.

Undefeated in her 11-fight career heading into this bout, Macfarlane found the going tougher against Velasquez, who was able to use her size advantage to keep her at range in the early rounds, and then hurt her late in the third with a flying knee.

Macfarlane dug deep in the championship rounds and finally started to have some success getting Velasquez to the mat, but again found being the smaller fighter problematic and wasn’t able to do enough to change the outcome of the fight, with Velasquez emerging as the unanimous decision winner and new champion (48-47 x2, 49-46).

Meanwhile, Russian ace Magomed Magamedov’s Bellator debut proved to be a success as he convincingly outgrappled Matheus Mattos for three rounds to earn a unanimous decision victory (30-26, 30-27 x2).
