Bellator 275 took place last night and we’ve got all the results for you below.
In the main event Bellator’s middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi made short work of Austin Vanderford in the opening round.
Vanderford, who is married to former UFC star Paige VanZant, had come into the fight with a perfect 11-0 career record, including five wins in a row in the promotion, but this was a huge step up in competition and it quickly showed as almost every punch he threw was landing.
Before long Vanderford’s legs started to wobble and he desperately looked for a takedown, which Mousasi coolly stuffed and then threw big elbows and punches while his opponent covered up on the mat to secure the TKO stoppage.
That extends the 36-year-old Mousasi’s current winning streak to four fights, including two successful defenses of the middleweight title, while if you look further back he’s lost just once in his last 13 fights, spanning both the later stages of his time in the UFC and his full run in the Bellator promotion.
After last night’s win, none-other than retired superstar Khabib Nurmagomedov hailed Mousasi as “the most underrated fighter in MMA today,” in a post on social media.
