Bellator 285 took place last night and we’ve got all the results for you below.
In the main event of the evening, Benson Henderson earned a convincing unanimous decision victory (49-45 x3) over Peter Queally.
Henderson sought out takedowns often in the fight and was able to control the action on top and in the clinch for significant spells, and though he never came close to finishing the fight and was also deducted a point in the second round for a low blow, his victory was never in doubt.
In the co-main event Melvin Manhoef faced a tough retirement fight against Yoel Romero, and found himself being outwrestled in the first and third rounds, with the latter leading to him being battered with brutal elbows on the mat that knocked him out.
The 46-year-old Manhoef has essentially fought in all the major MMA promotions outside of the UFC over the past 27 years, in addition to a lengthy kickboxing career too, so he’s long overdue the opportunity to hang up his gloves and rest easy with a career record that now stands at 32-16-1 (+2nc), including a whopping 29 of his 32 wins coming via strikes!
