Ben Askren Engages In War Of Words With Dillon Danis After Calling Out UFC

Ben Askren aimed a playful jab at the UFC yesterday over their failure to announced his arrival in the promotion, but ended up in a war of words with Conor McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis.

“Hey @ufc are you gonna make an announcement?” Askren wrote on twitter. “You are like that guy with a GF who’s embarrassed to tell his buddies even when everyone knows! Ha ha ha you know you love me.”

Danis responded with a cartoon image and the caption, “Weird flex but ok.”

There wasn’t much to it, but Danis may quickly have regretted throwing it out there as Askren was soon blasting back at him with both barrels.

“Dillon I know it went right over your head, but I know the only things you understand are acting tough and saying douchey things,” Askren told him.

“My personal favorite stupid thing you have said was that your average HS wrestling background would prepare Conor for @TeamKhabib !!! Lololol that worked out really well. Great job Dillon.

“And lastly shut up for a while, stop directly copying your Idols Schtick, you weren’t even the best at BJJ(@Garry_Tonon ‘s bitch) so maybe you could try to have some success at MMA.”

Despite the talk there’s no sign of a fight between these two any time soon, with Askren now contracted to the UFC, while Danis is currently signed with the UFC.

Instead it appears that Askren will be set for a major fight in the UFC’s welterweight division next, with Dana White recently indicating that he is likely to be facing a top-5 opponent in the weight class for his Octagon debut.
