A heavyweight fight between Ben Rothwell and Phillipe Lins has been announced for UFC Fight Night 187 on March 13th at a destination still to be confirmed.
The 39-year-old Rothwell heads into the fight following a decision loss to Marcin Tybura back in October.
Before that ‘Big’ Ben had secured two wins on the scorecards back-to-back against Stefan Struve and Ovince Saint Preux, bringing an end to a three fight losing streak before that.
In total the veteran now has an 8-7 record in the UFC and isn’t currently ranked in the heavyweight division.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old Lins is in need of a win after suffering two losses in a row during his 2020 campaign, after first tasting defeat by decision against Andrei Arlovski, followed by a first round KO loss to Tanner Boser last June.
As such, Lins remains without a win in the UFC so far, but before joining the promotion he did have a successful run in the PFL promotion, picking up four wins in a row on his way to winning their 2018 heavyweight tournament.
Rothwell vs. Lins joins a UFC Fight Night 187 card that will be headlined by a major welterweight fight as Leon Edwards takes on Khamzat Chimaev.
