Several former UFC notables topped the bill at last night’s BKFC: Knucklemania 2 bare-knuckle boxing event and we’ve got all the results below.
In the main event Luis Palomino secured a unanimous decision victory over Martin Brown (49-46 x2, 50-45) with an assured display of technical boxing.
Much of the pre-event interest revolved around the co-main event showdown, which saw Mike Perry going up against Julian ‘Let Me Bang, Bro’ Lane in something of a grudge match after the two volatile fighters brawled ringside at a prior BKFC event.
It proved to be as hard fought and bloody a battle as you might have expected between the two, with both eating big punches. Perry was generally getting the better of it though and did drop Lane in the first, but he too was rocked a couple of times and was under-fire late in the fight as his opponent tried to rally a late comeback. In the end though Perry emerged the winner by unanimous decision (48-46 x3).
Meanwhile, Chad Mendes made his return to combat sports for the first time in over three years and looked the part as he floored Joshuah Alvarez several times with heavy punches before the ref rightly waved off the action in the fourth round to save his opponent from further punishment for a convincing TKO victory.
