Bobby Green Furious That His Headbutt Resulted In No-Contest Against Jared Gordon

Bobby Green thought he’d won his fight with Jared Gordon by KO at UFC Fight Night 222 on Saturday night, but was left furious after learning that a clash of heads prior to the finish was going to result in a no-contest ruling.

“F*** it, we’re going to let some feelings out today,” Green said at the post-fight press conference. “F*** this, f*** this, and f*** this. I get it, I get it, we f****** clashed heads. I was trying to go for an elbow and he kind of dipped his head and we kind of clashed, but he was still f****** moving. He was trying to put me into a f****** triangle.

“I fought the triangle s*** off and he was still moving fine. And that after, when I busted his ass, then he was f***** up. He was still straight [before that]. And they want to try to slide me out of my money — that’s what I’m mad about.

“I need my money, bro. I need my money,” Green concluded before throwing down the mic and storming out of the press conference.

Despite Green’s anger it was clear that the referee made the correct decision in this situation as while it wasn’t intentional, Green’s head slammed full-force into Gordon’s head and left him dazed on the mat before the fight-ending ground-and-pound sequence.

Of course Gordon is sure to be frustrated too as he was already coming off a controversial decision loss to Paddy Pimblett back in December and now this freak accident led to him being knocked out, and so understandably still trying to come to terms with it, but has made it clear he’d welcome a rematch with Green.

“Man life is weird. I don’t know what to think…thank you for all the support though❤️” Gordon wrote on Twitter. “Nothing but respect for Bobby. Would love to get in the cage with him again #ufcvegas71 #ufc.”
